Cranky baby

Dearest Cepheus,

You have been acting cranky for the past few days. It started on last Saturday afternoon after your mummy left for her dim sum lunch with her colleagues. You simply refused to sleep on your own in your cot and wanted to be carried at all times. The same thing happened again on Sunday morning 4am after your feed. I have to carried you for a couple of hours before you are willing to sleep. To make things worse, you started vomiting a lot of milk on Sunday afternoon. We were having Father's day lunch with your grandfather and you decided to vomit out almost half of your feed all over your mummy. It seems like bringing out extra sets of baby's clothing is not enough, I think we need to bring out an extra set of mummy's clothing as well. You vomited twice again on Monday over our sofa and living room floor. At the rate you are going, our flat is going to smell like your mummy's breast milk.

We are going to consult the paediatrician at NUH about this during your checkup this coming Thursday. Hopefully you are not ill.

Love always,
daddy

I had experienced that same situation like yours before...no solution! Rushed to the hospital A&E and the doctor also cannot do much. I was totally desperate and want to breakdown when I saw my baby screaming so loudly.

It is probably the mysterious colics that is crawling up. Your baby will just need some time to settle down.

Get the survivial kit, a sleeping sarong! It works like magic. Just be careful when you are bouncing your baby, not too hard.

I was thinking about the sarong too but my wife objects to it. Seems like I have no choice but to become the "human sarong" and rock him to sleep myself.

Yes, initially I am also against using the sarong because it is bad for the baby's brain after prolong period of heavy bouncing. Then some people claimed that babies will get addicted and needs the sarong all the time to sleep.

Working around the problems, we will bounce the sarong gently and will transfer the baby to bed after she fall a sleep. Bingo...solve my problems!

It is a chain reaction. When babies do not get enough sleep which they should have at the very beginning, their milk intake will become lesser and development may slow down. Then parents will start to get worried and have insufficient rest. The whole cycle of anxiety once again.

Babies of the new generation are very different from the past. They are super babies! Haha...

Just some personal thoughts to share with you.... :)

Thanks for sharing your experience with me with regards to sarong. I will try to talk to my wife again to see if I can change her mind.
